If you have read Part 1, you already know what ChatGPT is. Now it is time to take the very first step — setting up ChatGPT on your phone or computer. We will start from absolute zero, just like a teacher explaining a new chapter in school.

Step 1 — Where to Open ChatGPT?

To use ChatGPT, you need to visit the official OpenAI website. No app download is needed to get started — your browser works perfectly.

Open Your Phone or Laptop

Any device works — Android, iPhone, Windows, or Mac. ChatGPT runs on all of them.

Type the Address in Your Browser

Open Chrome, Safari, or any browser and type: chatgpt.com — then press Enter.

You Will See the Welcome Page

On your first visit, a clean welcome page appears with Sign Up and Log In options clearly visible.

💡 Quick Note:The old address was chat.openai.com — the current official address is chatgpt.com. Both work, but chatgpt.com is faster and cleaner.

Step 2 — How to Create an Account? (Completely Free)

You need a free account to use ChatGPT. There are two ways to sign up — with Google or with Email.

Method 1 — With Google (Easiest ✅ Recommended)

You will see this button clearly on the welcome page.

Choose the Gmail account already logged in on your phone or browser.

Method 2 — With Email

Enter Your Email Address

Type any valid email address and click Continue.

Create a Strong Password

Make a strong password — for example: Learner@2026 — mix letters, numbers, and a symbol.

Verify Your Email

Check your inbox for a verification code. Enter that code to activate your account.

✅ Pro Tip:Signing up with Gmail is always better — logging in later is much easier and you never have to worry about forgetting a password.

At the bottom of the screen you will see a large text box that says "Message ChatGPT..." — click on it.

Try this as your very first message — copy and paste it:

💡 Remember:ChatGPT can reply in English, Urdu, Roman Urdu, or any language. Whatever language you write in, it will respond in the same language.

Step 5 — Important Settings to Configure Right Now

In the left-side menu, click your name or profile icon at the bottom → then select "Settings".

Add Your Name in Personalization

Under the Personalization section, set your name — so ChatGPT addresses you personally in every conversation.

Review Your Privacy Settings

Under Data Controls, turn off "Improve the model for everyone" if you do not want your conversations used for OpenAI's training data.

Step 6 — Install the ChatGPT Mobile App
